Dear Customers:
GC-MS and LC-MS analysis rates are per sample.
Sample is equal to single injection into the machine.
Example:
Single vial of any contents (tissiue extract, standard solution, solvent) is used for 10 injections for LC-MS analysis.
It is equal to 10 samples for billing purposes.

Experiment/Project estimates which may be composed from number of different rates reflecting complexity services offered.
Each case is individual. Estimates will be provided prior to project/service request acceptance in order to adjust your budget.

SetupX:
To submit samples to the Metabolomics Core Lab the SetupX-System is used to capture the metadata about your experiment, samples. SetupX allows you to enter experimental designs for the metabolomics research and core lab at the UC Davis Genome Center.
With this information, we ensure two prerequisites that are absolutely essential:
- samples will be processed in a randomized way in order to have high quality data for rigid statistical analyses.
- data will be stored and, depending on your approval, disseminated via our metabolomics database (BinBase). In order to understand and re-use the richness of metabolomic data, the experiments must be described in detail.
That’s why we need this information beforehand, i.e. before you actually submit samples for analysis. In order to keep it user friendly, we do not have very many ‘required’ fields: however, we must ask you to submit at least the level of experimental detail that you would also be asked from your favorite scientific journal…!
